Server Logs
Like most web sites, Sunrise-Sunset.org logs web, database, and other server-software usage and access information. This information may include your internet protocol (IP) address or a geographical location. We only use this information for debugging purposes and for aggregating into anonymous usage and traffic statistics.
API and MCP Server
Requests to our API (api.sunrise-sunset.org) and to our MCP server for AI assistants are logged like any other visit: the IP address, the date and time, the address requested (for the API this includes the coordinates and the date asked for) and the name of the software that made the request. For the MCP server we also record which tool was called and the name and version of the AI client. We do not receive your conversations with the AI assistant, only the values it sends us with each request: coordinates, dates and time zone. No account or API key is needed, so we do not collect names or email addresses. We use this information to run and protect the service (for example, to limit the number of requests from one address), to fix errors and to produce anonymous usage statistics. We do not sell it or share it with third parties, apart from Cloudflare, the network that delivers our traffic.
Cookies and Web Beacons
While browsing Sunrise-Sunset.org, a small number of text files referred to as "cookies" are created on your local file system by your web browser at the request of our servers. These files allow us to personalize the browsing experience. You are free to delete them at any time, or configure your browser not to create them. However, we do not guarantee that every feature of Sunrise-Sunset.org will function as expected without cookies enabled.
